The advent of the Bluecity Designs is not recent. Three decades ago, in 1987 the first-generation members of our family, Madan Lal Chhajer and Ratan Lal Chhajer laid the foundation with a Hardware store. After thoroughly reading the book, ‘TRADE’, the duo ushered in the field of Timber wood trading with our first ever venture in supply under the name ‘MAHALAXMI INDUSTRIES’. We recognised the strategic significance of not being confined to one field and discovered vast untapped potential of Timber market.
It was 1995 when the first office of our firm was set up in Jodhpur. The proficiency we had wangled through our hardware store for exporters helped us to run in this business organically. This venture was the testament of the knowledge we had harboured all these years. With proper resources and sources, we raced to become one of the strongest wood merchants of the city. Later bagged immense recognition for the work we have rendered to our customer whereas the virtue of keeping up with our networks and maintaining a heathy relationship played a catalyst in our growth.
In 2007, Madan lal Chhajer and Ratan lal Chhajer along with their nephew Dinesh Chhajer concreted a firm called, Contemporary Furniture Pvt. Ltd. which with their adherence and devotion got listed in the categories of the prominent suppliers with the turnover of fifteen million USD, annually.
For six years, we collaborated with eminent furniture making firms to develop and supply products and finally in 2013 we established our own plant and machineries to produce furniture for décor. Since furniture products are not standard, a customer wants to see various choices and that’s where we come as frontrunners with a catalogue full of many variants. This industry is a risk-taker that believes that the secret of growing like a pine in business with increased figures in profit confines in building subsidiaries and inventories. With reason why, our second-generation members; Piyush Chhajer, Mohit Chhajer joined the fray.
